Manila, September 4, 2017 — Iligan Bloggers Society (IBS), Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected as one of the finalists of the seventh annual Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund (AEIF) for its project entry entitled “Go Social: A Digital Marketing Tour Bootcamp”.

Go Social is a 6-month program on digital marketing strategies for social enterprises and micro and small businesses owned and run by young entrepreneurs. A series of boot camps will be conducted in three major regions in the Philippines, namely Baguio City (Luzon), Cebu (Visayas) and Iligan City and Cotabato (Mindanao).

Twenty-five (25) participants from each of these regions will be invited to a 2-day seminar-workshop, followed by regular mentoring sessions during the 3-month implementation of their online marketing campaigns, and an exit conference to feature and recognize the top performers based on identified metrics.

The project is in line with the organization’s goal of contributing to the promotion of socio-economic development of Iligan and other developing cities in the Philippines through digital education.

AEIF supports alumni initiatives that promote shared values and innovative solutions to global challenges.

This year, out of 1,014 project submissions from 125 countries, 68 alumni teams representing 53 countries have been selected as finalists to implement projects that support business development and economic opportunity, encourage civic participation and resilient communities, foster education and inclusion, and empower women and girls around the world.

Go Social Bootcamp is the only winning project entry from the Philippines and one of the six from Southeast Asia.
